Substats
The sub-stats of an artifact are random, but can be improved using several ways. Unlike the main stats, which increase with every upgrade, the sub-stats can be boosted randomly on any of the four existing slots. The number of sub-stats that an artifact is determined by its rank. Rank 2 does not have any sub-stats while the rank 5 has five. Each sub-status has a range of rarity in which it can be created in.
If you'd like to increase your chance to get a certain sub-stat, you can use REFINE ARTIFACTS in order to increase the chance by four levels. However, this will cost you MORA. Finding duplicates is another way to boost the sub-stats of an item. You can then enhance the duplicates so that they have a higher rarity and a different set of sub-stats. If you're a top level player, this could be a great strategy for increasing your character's DPS. But, be cautious not to overdo it and risk losing your MORA.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens allow players to reroll an item that is currently possessed by a particular unit. Rerolling the item will result in an upgrade to level 1 with different bonuses and a completely new type of equipment. Rerolling an item can increase its ilvl value in certain cases. However, the item will not retain its ilvl level and rerolling is only beneficial when the item has rare affixes.
Rerolling an object resets its base power, all upgrades and substats. This can be useful if the power of an upgraded item is less than what you want or if a player desires different substats on an existing ring. Reroll tokens can be obtained in various ways, including from the mistery container, as a drop from skulled creatures or as a reward for killing the boss.
The items that can be rerolled are weapons, armor, rings and other items. Weapons can be rerolled to increase physical power, spellpower, or health. Rings can be rerolled to increase damage or durability, while armor can be rerolled to lessen damage or boost defense. Rerolling a crafted item will create an item that is rare-like and the same characteristics as the ingredient equipment item. Rerolled items don't keep its owner's ilvl and any resources used up will not be compensated.
The rerolling process can be accomplished by pressing the green button with circles of arrows in the items menu. The button will not appear on any item currently equipped by an enemy unit. To roll an item, the player must possess at least one re-roll token in their inventory. The button requires the player to select the stat they want to reroll and then confirm the action. Rerolls may take longer than you expect in some cases. This is due to the rerolling system being able to provide numerous possible combinations. In these situations the player can utilize a second token to speed the process.
